Using RealSpace™ SDK and the VisiSonics RealSpace Accoustics Analysis Tool (VRAAT), users can select a specific location from a Panoramic, real-world 3D space and capture and enhance the sound emanating from that specific, selected location in real time in order to accomplish any of the following:

  • Visually identify sound leaks in vehicle cabins
  • Isolate a conversation from a large noisy crowded environment
  • Remotely pick up the chatter of the players in a sports event without wiring them
  • Isolate and diagnose sounds in an industrial environment to prevent downtime losses
  • Visualize the flow of sound and reflections in a concert hall, or industrial setting and immediately identifying acoustic issues

RealSpace™ Audio Visual Camera

The RealSpace™ Panoramic Audio/Visual Camera consists of 5 video cameras and 64 microphones mounted on the surface of an aluminum sphere. The spherical architecture and associated algorithms allow the creation of an omni-directional acoustic image of the environment. Meanwhile, the video camera array generates an associated omni-directional panoramic visual image of the same environment. These images are synchronized and co-registered using patented algorithms to produce a live audio-visual stream. The convergence of audio and video capture allows for the visualization of sound sources and their interaction with the environment to be understood in real-time.

With this product, users can capture, store, retrieve and process real-time integrated and synchronized audio and visual information. The captured data incorporates all aspects of the audiovisual world that an individual would experience if he or she were physically present where the Audio/Visual Camera were located. The processing software and storage system allows you to do this in real-time or on stored data.

The system can be used for:

  • Noise Source Identification
  • Ambisonics
  • Architectural Acoustics and Room Measurement
  • Telepresence
  • Cross-Modal Attention and Saliency
  • Psychophysics
  • Audio-Visual Tracking
  • Audio/Visual Recording and Analysis
  • Meeting Recording
  • Intelligibility
  • Noise measurement

Noise Vibration and Harshness

Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) is a key component for the transportation industry. Everything from engines and drivetrain to wind and road surfaces can contribute to excessive noise in vehicles. Being able to identify and eliminate unnecessary noise can increase the value of vehicles to customers by providing a better overall user experience.

VisiSonics patented technology is able to assist in the capture and localization of such sounds. Using the RealSpace™ Panoramic Audio Camera, one can isolate where sounds are coming from in any setting, such as a car cabin, allowing the user to quickly pinpoint potential problem areas and begin troubleshooting faster than ever before.

“Noise, vibration and harshness is a key study for auto manufacturers. The fact that the most prevalent noise, the combustion engine, can be eliminated, brings on a whole new suite of challenges. The RealSpace™ Panoramic Audio Camera is a great tool in helping  to identify and localize those challenges.” –Garland Dughi, Tesla Motors Noise and Vibration Specialist
