15KW Induction Melting System (60mm Tube) w/ Top-Suction Casting for Thin Rod Up to 1200°C - SP-15VSC
MTI
SP-15VSC is a 15KW induction heating/melting system with a Top-Vacuum-Suction mechanism. Such a unique feature can produce cast products (3 - 5 mm Dia. rod shape) by raising and introducing the molten metal into the top quartz feeding tube. The sucking force applied results in a fast movement of the melt and causes the rapid solidification of the melt inside the quartz feeding tube. It is an ideal tool for preparing small diameter alloy rods with reduced shrinkage cavity defects.
Specifications
| Induction Heater | Working Voltage: 220V AC, 50/60Hz, Single Phase Working Current: 5-52 Amp (60A breaker required) Max Input Power: 15 KW Output Frequency: 30 - 80 kHz Adjustable Duty Cycle: 80% Induction Coil: 70mm(OD) x 65mm(ID) x 80mm(H) Auto Heating Time: 1-99 seconds Auto Dwell Time: 1-99 seconds Auto Cooling Time: 1-99 seconds Air Cooling: Rear Fan Protection: Automatic water pressure, over-temperature, and overpower protection |
| Vacuum-Suction Casting Method | A top casting utilizes the suction force to produce a 3- 5 mm rod shape metal alloy with ~150mm length Shrinkage cavity defects of the alloy can be significantly reduced by utilizing such a suction casting method The sucking force is generated by the rapid movement of the syringe piston (manually operated) Observation window (12mm Dia.) on the top flange allows you to monitor the melt conditions A 7 O.D x 4 I.D × 500 L mm quartz feeding tube is inserted from the feedthrough on the top flange. Warning: Never suction cast metal alloy @ > 1200ºC to avoid damaging the quartz feeding tube |
| Graphite Crucible, Refractory liners & Protective Shield | Refractory assembling: complete refractory assembling (5mm thick) made of alumina, including bottom crucible support, crucible holder, and cover 1.5"(OD) x 1.25"(ID) x 3.75"(Deep) Graphite Crucible is included Boron Nitride Crucible with lid (30 O.D x 24 I.D x 26 H mm) is available upon request Note: Crucibles are consumable, not covered by warranty |
| Flanges & Quartz Chamber | Stainless Steel Flange with high-temperature silicone o-ring and self-tighten structure Two needle valves and vacuum gauge installed on the flange Half Open Quartz Tube with dimensions of 60mm(OD) x 57mm(ID) x 250mm(L) is included KF25 connector and 1000mm long SS pipe is included for connecting to the vacuum pump The pressure relief valve is designed to release pressure at 0.02MPa for safety concerns |
| Water Chiller | Temperature range: 5 - 30°C Water Flow Rate: 58 L/min Water Tank: 15 Liters made of stainless steel Note: It is recommended to use a specific coolant to get the best performance. It is normal to wait a couple of minutes for cooling down after several trials of heating Note: the input voltage for the water chiller is 220V |
| Vacuum Pump | One 156 L/min Double-Stage Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump is included Rate: 156 L/min up to 10e-4 torr vacuum Max. Power Consumption: 400W |
| Compliance | NRTL or CSA Certification is available upon request at extra cost, please contact us for a price quote. Certify standards include: Induction heater: UL61010-1 & UL499 Vacuum Pump: UL1450 Water Chiller: UL61010 & UL1995 |
| Warning | Attention: Protective inert gas must be continuously filled throughout the suction casting process in order to protect the graphite crucible and the melt. Attention: A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on the gas cylinder to limit the pressure to below 3 PSI for safe operation. Never heat the furnace while the gas release valve is closed and a positive pressure condition exists within the furnace chamber. The pressure gauge must be used to closely monitor the chamber condition at all times during the heating process; please open the gas release valve immediately once the chamber pressure has reached over 3 PSI to prevent unforeseeable damages. |
| Application Notes | Melting time and temperature are related to materials, the crucible, refractory insulation, etc. If you do not know whether the induction heater can melt your sample or not, please contact us for consulting Customized induction heater systems are available upon request |
