855 SOFC & SOEC Test System

Scribner

The 855 SOFC & SOEC Test System is a fully integrated platform for operation, control, and diagnostics of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs).

Designed for research environments, the 855 combines electronic load control, gas handling, furnace integration, and real-time electrochemical diagnostics into a single, cohesive system.

Capable of zero-volt applications for lower measurement range, as well as automated, hands-free switching between SOFC and SOEC mode via FuelCell® software. The 855 is known for it’s high performance and accuracy.—so you can focus on your experiment, not your setup.

  • Integrated turnkey SOFC platform — Bring together load control, gas management, humidification, and furnace interfacing into a single, coordinated system.

  • Multi-range electronic load with zero-volt capability — Accurately test across a wide operating range with a multi-range load (5/25/50 A, 100 W) and zero-volt capability—enabling precise low-voltage measurements critical for SOFC research.

  • Integrated furnace & thermal control — Precision temperature management with built-in safety enables stable, high-temperature operation for long-duration SOFC testing.

  • Advanced gas & humidification control — Maintain accurate and repeatable reactant conditions with flexible flow control and integrated humidification.

  • Real-time electrochemical diagnostics — Access continuous HFR and IR-free voltage measurements for immediate insight into true cell performance.

  • Impedance & electrolysis capability — Expand into deeper diagnostics and SOEC operation with integrated impedance analysis and electrolysis support.

  • FuelCell® software control — Automate complex test protocols and monitor all system parameters through a single, intuitive interface.

  • Built-in safety for high-temperature operation — Operate confidently with integrated safeguards, automatic shutdowns, and system-wide protection.

  • Characterize SOFC performance

  • Study high-temperature electrochemistry

  • Analyze degradation and durability

  • Expand into SOEC and reversible systems
