Compact 1" Levitation Melting System - EQ-SPG-6VMS

MTI

EQ-SPG-6VMS is a vacuumable levitation melting system with1”. quartz tube for exploring new generation metallic alloy. Such an advanced system equips with a 6KW ultra high-frequency induction heater and special developed helical conical coil to suspend conductive metals up to 10g, such as Al, Mg, Cu, etc. The metal is then melted by a magnetic vortex within a vacuum-sealed quartz tube. The conductive workpiece is levitated, melted & untouched by the crucible during the process, and thus reducing the contamination to the minimum. A vacuum pump and recirculating water chiller are included for immediate use.

  • Please click here to learn how to set up the crucible for melting
  • Attention: A pressure regulator must be installed on your input gas tank ( click picture below to review ) and have the output gas pressure set below 3 PSI at all times. Gas pressure exceeding over 3 PSI may cause irreversible damage to the furnace chamber.  
  • Never heat the furnace without flowing gas.  Please open the gas release valve immediately once the chamber pressure has reached over 3 PSI to prevent unforeseeable damages. The flow rate for gases should be limited to < 200 SCCM ( or 200ml/min )
